One of my profs just sent us this picture of one of the Chauvet Cave paintings from… 30,000 BC! Even older than the masterpieces of Ancient Egypt bro.
This makes me think about the fact that there was a person, and we’ll never know who they were, who was the first person to create art.
Whoever made these cave paintings was not the first artist. We will never see the very first piece of art that was ever made. That just makes art more mysterious and wonderful.
I love art so much.
Chauvet cave is so beautiful. When I watched “the Cave of Forgotten Dreams” I was floored with how powerful it is. Really worth a watch for everyone. God what a good movie.
I like you guys a lot. Art is fantastic. Creation, in general, is such a great thing because it’s organizing and bringing together stuff that wouldn’t be like that otherwise. Any and every single thing you do is an act of creation, in a way, and that is wonderful & exciting. Life as performance art.
